Frequently Asked Questions

| Q | What is Pacific Rim doing to benefit the local El Dorado communities? |
| A | Pacific Rim is committed to providing long term, sustainable benefits to the communities in and around the El Dorado project. We have spent considerable effort working with the local population to earn a 'social license' to mine. Polls indicate that 85% of the community members are in favor of development and operation of a mine at El Dorado. Our employees are all very sensitive to the importance of earning a 'social license' and have done an excellent job of implementing and basically living our plan in the community. We recognize that this is not a compartmentalized task, but one that is acknowledged by the entire team. We are working hard to ensure support for our efforts to develop and operate a mine at El Dorado remains strong.
Pacific Rim takes its environmental and social responsibility seriously and has instituted numerous specific community initiatives in and around the El Dorado gold project in El Salvador, including health and education programs, reforestation initiatives, and projects to improve access to clean water. It is expected that the operation of a mine at El Dorado will have a significant and positive impact on the lives of many local inhabitants and on the local economy. |
