Pacific Rim Mining Corp. was formed on April 11, 2002 by the amalgamation of the 'old' Pacific Rim Mining Corp. and Dayton Mining Corporation. Pursuant to the amalgamation, 'old' Pacific Rim shareholders received 23,498,600 common shares of the Company on a one for one basis, while 31,123,974 common shares of Dayton were exchanged for the Company's common shares on a one for 1.76 basis. Pacific Rim Mining Corp.'s authorized capital is unlimited common shares without par value.
