	November 09, 2009 Hurricane Ida Relief Appeal
	Dear Shareholders, As you may have heard, over the past weekend El Salvador was hit particularly hard by Hurricane Ida, which caused numerous deadly mudslides in the San Salvador area. At present, more than 120 have lost their lives, 60 people are still missing and over 7,500 people have been displaced from their homes. El Salvador has been hard hit and needs emergency relief. The majority of victims from the mudslides are those living in poverty in the arroyos (stream beds) on the side of the mountain that is part of San Salvador. The rains from Hurricane Ida came quickly and there was little warning of the deadly slides. The Salvadoran American Humanitarian Foundation www.sahf.org is coordinating donations for relief efforts if you'd like to join Pacific Rim by making a contribution. SAHF is an important and well-managed aid agency in El Salvador that is partnering with a local Salvadoran sister agency to provide food and other basic personal necessities to those in need.
